Blackjack Mountain GA

The FOMR March Walk and Talk will be a hike at Black Jack Mountain, led by Trudy Crunkleton. Meet at the entrance on Highway 100 about 2.5 miles west of Ephesus. Look for flag marker. Good walking shoes are recommended.

McIntosh Reserve Park 1046 W. McIntosh Cr, Whitesburg

The Spring Wildflower Hike will be April 11, which is the second Saturday in April this year.  Meet at the old ranger station at 9 a.m.   The full hike will take two plus hours, but Wendell will point out cut offs for those needing to get home sooner.  (We request that good pictures be made available for our website.)

We will meet at 9:00 am at the Council Bluff Pavilion at McIntosh Reserve. Dr. Tim Chowns will present a program on the plate tectonics that gave rise to the Appalachian Mountains and the processes that have resulted in the landscape seen today at McIntosh Reserve Park.  After the talk, he will lead a hike to show illustrations of these past events.
