Walk and Talks
All walk and talk programs are open to the public. Entrance to the park requires a $5 per car fee, or you can purchase an annual pass for all Carroll County Parks, for $50 (senior discounts age 62+ $30). This purchase can be made at any park entrance.
Informal Hikes
Friends of McIntosh Reserve organizes and leads casual, informal hikes that are perfect for anyone who enjoys a frequent walk in the woods or even just the occasional outing. These hikes are a great way to explore the beauty of the reserve without any pressure—just show up and enjoy nature. The group posts upcoming hikes on their social media and Google Calendar, so it’s easy to stay in the loop.
Environmental & Cultural Initiatives
Friends of McIntosh Reserve (FOMR) actively collaborates with several environmental organizations, including the Trust for Public Land, Chattahoochee Riverkeeper, Birds Georgia, Georgia Department of Natural Resources, University of West Georgia, and Georgia Rivers. Through these partnerships, FOMR builds strong relationships that support passive recreation in the park, promote and encourage sustainable practices and environmental stewardship. These collaborations are key in raising awareness and developing protections for both the natural and cultural heritage of the park, with a strong focus on land conservation and long-term preservation.
