March 5 (Saturday) 10 am: Informal hike at Moore’s Bridge
We plan to hike from the Black Dirt side of the park to the Highway 16 side. The hike is about 1.75 miles one way. Most of the path is scenic and easily walkable. At other spots it is hilly and can be slippery when there has been rain. There is also a creek that could be difficult to cross under wet conditions. We plan to arrange a pick up at the Highway 16 side for those who care to only hike one way. Might be a good idea to wear water-proof shoes and carry a walking stick or two.
The current plan is to rendezvous at the comfort station at Moore’s Bridge and carpool to a site on Black Dirt Road closer to the beginning of the trail. This will save traversing a very steep hill at the beginning of the hike.
